At what age can my daughter choose whether or not she wants to have visits with me?

QUESTION: My daughter’s father has full physical custody, I only have parenting time. His girlfriend is trying to tell my daughter that she can decide at a certain age wether or not she wants to have visits with me. I’m confused about this. Also is his girlfriend aloud to adopt her if I still have my rights? Please help me out. I’m from michigan, not sure if laws are different here. Thank you so much!

ANWSER: She cannot adopt your daughter without your consent and relinquishment of your parental rights during the process. As for what age your daughter can tell you she does not want to visit, there is no age. Courts do not allow children to control parenting time. If there is a court order in place, the court will demand that its order be followed.
